The Verve

I find joy in repetition. My work has always been about incremental progress that leads to juicy discoveries. I rarely paint just one piece; I prefer to create a series of paintings until I’ve exhausted all that I have to express about the idea. Because I explore each theme incrementally, every painting, in a deeply intimate process, emerges from the one before.

By taking symbolism out of context through small changes in color, texture, and pattern, I create an opportunity for the viewer to pause and perhaps, even, shift their perspective. Repetition, I believe, leads to discovery and greater self-awareness.
